I earned my B.S. in Biology at the University of Puget Sound in 2006, where I conducted research on intertidal seastars and “predatory” bacteria.  After completing a research apprenticeship at Friday Harbor Labs, I spent two years as a technician in the entomology department at the University of Arizona.  In 2008, I started graduate school at Miami University, where I earned my Ph.D. in ecology, evolution, and environmental biology in 2016.  I was hired as an assistant professor of biology at Clayton State University in 2014.
